St Theresa's Home is a voluntary welfare nursing home built on the Christian values of caring for the less fortunate in society. The Little Sisters started the Home in 1935 as a mission to the poor and the aged, and although they no longer manage St Theresa's Home, the Home's philosophy remains true to their heritage. The staff at St Theresa's Home continue to see their work as a mission and endeavour to emulate the Little Sisters as best they can in the care and support they give the residents.

Our Vision
Our vision is to make St Theresa's Home a cheery and familial home for the elderly and aged sick; a place where they can live out their golden years or recuperate from an illness before returning home.

Our Mission
Our mission is to provide quality holistic care for the elderly and aged sick through a continuum of nursing and spiritual care tailored to the needs of our residents.

Our Environment
St Theresa's Home has been able to achieve its vision and mission by continuing to build on its Christian foundation. Its team of management and nursing care professionals provides residents with a comprehensive nursing care programme that reflects its heritage. The philosophy of the home and its staff is to serve by emulating the love, sacrifice and service of our Lord Jesus Christ and the motherly love, care and support of our Blessed Mother Mary in their work. In doing so, we are able to support the Ministry of Health's mission of caring for the Nation.

Another key factor is the architecture and location of the home. The gracious colonial style building near MacRitchie Reservoir provides residents with a serene and restful environment that is far removed from the frenetic pace of the world.

In keeping with the Catholic tradition of providing for the disadvantaged in the community, residents are asked to pay a sum they can afford for their upkeep. If they cannot afford to pay, the home looks to donations for support.

Although it is managed and largely funded by Catholic Welfare Services, the Home also depends on friends, benefactors and members of the public for their continued support in cash and kind and on Ministry of Health for subvention in the upkeep of the home and the cost of nursing care.

St Theresa's Home was established and continues to be managed by Catholics, and in keeping with Catholic tradition, its doors are open to all who need its services, regardless of their race or religion.
